Kelli is passionate about health promotion and disease prevention. She takes the time to actively listen to patient’s concerns and works with them to achieve a high level of wellness. From the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, every health issue has a root cause. These deep-seated root imbalances fester for years before symptoms develop. By identifying and treating these imbalances, Kelli is able to promote her patient’s health and prevent the onset of disease. Even if disease has already expressed itself, treatment is based on correcting the root imbalance (cause of disease) rather than on the superficial symptoms; in this way, patients can expect real and lasting results rather than merely short-lived symptom relief. Kelli determines the root cause of disease symptoms through TCM diagnostic techniques including an extensive patient interview along with pulse and tongue diagnosis.
Since 2001, Kelli has treated a wide variety of people ranging in age from four to over ninety years old. She is experienced working with people who have health conditions ranging from headaches, insomnia, gastrointestinal disorders, neck and back pain and sports-related injuries to chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, psychological and neurological disorders and cancer. While Kelli incorporates highly specialized approaches into her practice (such as scalp acupuncture to treat disorders including Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and post-stroke sequelae), she remains true to the time-tested holistic traditions of the ancient Chinese art of acupuncture.
True healing can only take place when the body, mind, and emotions are in a relaxed state. Kelli creates a healing, spa-like atmosphere with the use of relaxing music, mineral-heat therapy, high quality essential oils, and ensuring the ultimate comfort of her patients. The profound relaxation experienced during acupuncture treatments, which Kelli refers to as an acu-vacation, not only promotes deep healing but, also, trains the body and mind to remain in a more relaxed state.
Kelli earned her master’s degree in Oriental Medicine at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. Prior to this she earned a master’s degree in Psychology at the University of North Texas where she studied Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine. She has practiced as a State Licensed and National Board Certified Acupuncturist since 2001 and is a highly respected healer in the eyes of her patients and other healthcare practitioners.
